There are a few pieces I consider staples in my wardrobe. Things I can wear more than once, with different outfits without being boring...no pressure. You don't want to invest in something that you look back at in two years and ask yourself, "What was I thinking?"
Blazers fall into this category. I wanted something that I wouldn't see someone else wearing, but I didn't want it to be weird; fitted and classic but with a touch of personality. I conjured up a ridiculous idea in my head. But patience is a virtue. My mother's love for the English designer Katherine Hooker led us to her atelier in London where I found just what I envisioned, but better. The colors are muted and versatile but it has great details: the English flag patch, buttons and a striped silk lining.
