I'm naturally a tan person. This photo was after only two days of actually being outside this summer. But despite the fact that I love being tan and I'm only 23, I'm learning more and more how important it is to take care of my skin. I have a grandmother in her 80s that has the skin of someone 20 years younger. (Come to find out the woman wore driving gloves almost her entire life and still dons a headscarf and sunglasses.) So I'm trying to find a middle ground. No, I probably won't start sporting driving gloves. But there are some rules I try to live by and products I use to find a happy balance.
1. Use face moisturizer and makeup with SPF. There are a variety of brands that offer this now, and it's more appealing than having your face smell like sunscreen. One of my oldest friends introduced me to Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. Life changing. Gives you a little tint as well as SPF 20.
2. I don't wear driving gloves but I always sunscreen my hands. It's a little thing but the skin on your hands is extremely delicate.
3. I hate being redundant and I'm not going to lie to you and tell you I wear SPF 60 every time I leave the house. Instead I've recently starting mixing my daily lotion with a bit of sunscreen. Happy medium, remember?
For those of you who only clicked on this because of the one piece, I'm wearing a ViX bathing suit.
